SCHOLARSHIP
UCBPA Scholarship Information
UCBPA sponsors three scholarships for deserving seniors: Jeffreys Memorial Academic Scholarship,
Career & Technical Scholarship, and the Service Scholarship.
General Requirements
The following requirements apply to all scholarship applicants:
• Be a senior at the high school level,
• Currently attend Union County High School or reside in Union County (Seniors who attend a
home school or private school may apply if they live in Union County. ),• Have a GPA based on their high school career through December 31 of the senior year,
• Submit a photograph that is at least wallet size with the application,
• Complete the scholarship application,
• Complete an interview, and
• Complete a release form.
Other requirements are listed under each scholarship and on the scholarship qualifications. An
applicant may apply for more than one scholarship. All scholarship funds are All scholarships may be
used for tuition, fees, books, equipment required by the higher education program, transportation, food,
or lodging. All checks are sent to the school with funds designated for the student.
Jeffreys Memorial Academic Scholarship
In addition to the general requirements, this scholarship requires the applicant to major in
business or a profession at a college or university and to write an essay of 500 words or less on a given
topic.
The scholarship is for $3,125 paid in five stipends of $625 each. At least a 2.5 GPA each
semester is necessary to keep the scholarship.
Career & Technical Scholarship
This scholarship is only available to Union County High School Students who are career &
technical path concentrators. In addition to the general requirements, all applicants must have an
excellent rating on the competency in the area of concentration and write a paragraph of 50 words or
less on a given topic.
The scholarship is for $1000 paid in two stipends of $500 each. A satisfactory grade report is
necessary to complete the scholarship.
Service Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded for outstanding community service in the amount of at least 100
hours completed during the junior and/or senior years (maximum of 18 months). All service must be
verified by a supervising adult. Service must be voluntary and unpaid. Service can be school or
community related.
The scholarship is for $500 paid in one stipend.
